It's been a week

My name is Hannah. I am the chief copy editor at the Daily Trojan, the daily newspaper at USC. If you find any errors in spelling, punctuation or grammar in the newspaper (because I won't care enough to check my posts thoroughly), it's either a part of AP style or my fault. That is if I haven't had a mental breakdown and missed a night of production.

I am going to keep a journal of my joys (and painful sorrows. Is that redundant?) at the Daily Trojan. It's going to be a rough semester. I'm going to read 12-24 pages of newspaper at least three times every night. I will be in a tiny little office from at least 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. from Mondays through Thursdays, with some afternoon hours on Sundays. I will have no time to do homework because all I'll want to do is sleep.

It will be a great experience. I will learn a lot about newspaper production and news judgment, but I will also learn what it feels like to not have a social life. Hopefully there won't be too many mistakes this semester. And when I look back on this semester, I will feel at least pretty good about what I've done. Thank you.
